The world's first energy-efficient building was constructed in 1972 in American Manchester. The seven-story office center used the heat of solar radiation, and the equipment was controlled by a computer. Today, an office center has been built in Tokyo, which is endowed with the world's first "skin" cooling system - a system of pipes outside the building which prevent its excessive heating by evaporating water as needed.
